Brandon A. Oakes is an US/ Canadian actor. Kanienkehaka (Mohawk) from Akwesasne which straddles the U.S. / Canadian border. He started his career as a dancer. He has performed and toured extensively throughout North America with several Indigenous and Non indigenous dance Companies. Oakes is most noted for his role in the film Through Black Spruce, for which he received a Canadian Screen Award (CSA) nomination for Best Actor in a drama. Also nominated for a CSA for Best supporting actor in a dramatic series for Diggstown in 2020.
