Garrett Backstrom

Garrett Backstrom was born October 25, 1995, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Elizabeth and Gary Backstrom. He was raised in a Christian household and is strong in his faith. Having a passion for filmmaking from a very young age, Garrett's pursuit took him to California where he pursued his ambitions for filmmaking and acting. From 2010 to 2014, he starred in a handful of shows and movies including - "Brothers & Sisters" (2011), "Lab Rats" (2012), "Jesse" (2012), "Hello Herman" (2012), "Motel Life" (2012), and "Summer Snow" (2014). Garrett attended Brighton Hall, was elected student body president, developed leadership skills, and fostered long-standing relationships with many in the film industry. In 2014 he decided to put his acting career on hold to master film production at Loyola Marymount University. During those four years, Garrett spent his spare time producing and directing a variety of commercials, music videos, and narrative productions. He also acted in two feature films while attending college, "Late Bloomer" (2016) and "Bad Impulse" (2020). He graduated from the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in 2018. After graduating, Garrett assisted with financing Aaron Sorkin's "The Trial of the Chicago 7" (2020). He is producing a feature film with Dutch Hofstetter, written by Howard Klausner, and directed by Sean McNamara. The film is inspired by the life of the Christian icon, George Mueller.
