Leanna Brodie
Leanna is an award-winning playwright, translator, and librettist whose works have been performed internationally. As an actor, her extensive theatre credits have included the world premiere of Carmen Aguirre's The Refugee Hotel and the Canadian premiere of Samuel Beckett's All That Fall. Her plays Schoolhouse, The Vic, For Home and Country, and The Book of Esther are published by Talonbooks. Fluent in French, she has translated many Québec plays from French into English, some of which are published by Playwrights Canada Press. Born in Winnipeg and raised in rural Ontario, she was based in Toronto for many years, but now lives in Vancouver, Canada with her husband, the actor-writer-director Jovanni Sy. They are working on a new play together about Arthur Miller's 1983 trip to China to direct Death of a Salesman in Beijing.
