Born in Lawrence, Kansas as Daniel Edwin Carey. Grew up in Paola, Kansas. Has two brothers. Danny received a scholarship in High School to go to the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City. Went to the University of Missouri-Kansas City. His first concert was Lynyrd Skynyrd. He played as a studio drummer early on with Carole King. He is now living full time in Los Angeles.
