People living in a coastal village come across black pearls in the ocean. Their greed to extract it more proves deadly as the ocean is home to a man-eating shark.

Twin brothers are separated at birth and in adulthood, their identities are swapped.

Ajay, a businessman, provides funds to Sarjuprasad to develop his hometown. When he learns that the money has been misappropriated by Sarjuprasad, he resolves to set things right.

Ravidas, a gifted poet falls in love with Jyoti. Because of differences in caste, the villagers oppose their marriage. He decides to move to the city to fulfill his dreams of becoming a recognized poet and eventually marrying Jyoti. There he comes across a big newspaper publisher who recognizes his talent and publishes some of Ravidas's poems in a column in his newspaper and Ravidas becomes famous. He communicates to Jyoti by writing on the side of the morning express train, hence the title of the film Saveray Wali Gaadi. Jyoti reads these messages each morning hoping for the time when Ravidas will return and take her away with him.

Somu meets Nehalata in a brothel and realises that she is suffering from amnesia which regresses her to a childlike state. He decides to take her to his home in Ooty and protect her.

Chennabassapa decides to sell a plantation to be able to build a house for his family, which does not sit well with the caretaker. Soon after, Chennabassapa's daughter, Uma, starts acting strange.
