Sonia Rathee became famous with web series roles. She has a brother, Ankur Rathee. Rathee spent her childhood in San Diego, California, USA, before moving to New York; she completed her graduation in Finance & Marketing from a college in Boston. She worked in New York in the finance industry for a year. Later, she decided to pursue her childhood dream and started taking acting classes. Rathee played Rumi Desai in Broken But Beautiful (2018), her debut web series, in May 2021, opposite late actor Sidharth Shukla shown on ALTBalaji and MX Player. This was her ticket to stardom as the web series made her famous. Following the success of Broken But Beautiful Season 3, she starred in the Netflix series Decoupled (2021) along with actors like Madhavan and Surveen Chawla. The name of her character in this series was Masha. Rathee's first movie as a lead actress was Tara vs Bilal (2022), a romantic comedy on Netflix, produced by actor John Abraham opposite Harshvardhan Rane. She was a part of Badshah's music video 'Chamkeela Chehra' in July 2022. She was able to show her dancing skills, and she hopes to be part of more dance numbers to promote her dancing skills.
