Satyanshu Singh was born in a middle-class family in the small town of Munger in Bihar, India. He studied medicine at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and had a job in the Indian Armed Forces as a Medical Officer. But, in order to pursue filmmaking, he gave up that job and shifted to Mumbai. His friends from school and college helped him take that leap. Today, Satyanshu is a screenwriter and a director. He has also been teaching filmmaking and screenwriting since 2011 and many of his students now have established careers in the Mumbai film industry.
