Jamila Bishop

Jamila Bishop was most recently seen on TV One's For My Man as Sonya O'Neal, Destination America's A Haunting portraying a Pyschic, on BET's Criminals at Work as Susan Gellis. She has recently completed production for a feature film titled, Free Ride, a TV series called Chase Street, and a student film called Tour Guides. Jamila studied with Playwright, Director, and Producer, David E. Talbert, John P. Graves, Kenneth McGregor, and actor Tasha Smith. She has also taken classes at TVI Studios (New York) with Casting Directors such as Jeanine Bartel and Allison Shomer. Additionally, Jamila took theatre classes at Pennsylvania State University. Jamila played the role of Dr. Johnson in the Independent film Her Little Secret and appeared on a PBS short film Quakers: The Quiet Revolutionaries where she played a maidservant. Jamila has also performed in theatre productions such as Kristen in Rhythm of Success, Margie in Sunday Brunch, Monica Miller in And Here We Go Again, and Shykedah in The Things Church People Won't Say. Jamila enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an avid reader and traveler. Jamila enjoys dancing Bachata, Merengue, and Salsa. Jamila has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Sociology and an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. She would like to thank her family and friends for the support they have shown her over the years as well as give thanks to the Directors who has given her the opportunity to be a part of their production. Jamila's greatest ambitions are to star in a John Singleton film and be an Oscar Award contender.
