Daniel Sea

Daniel Sea is an actor, musician and artist. They work in film, theater and TV series. Daniel played the first recurring trans-masculine role in mainstream television, appearing from 2006 - 2009 as Max in Showtime's "The L Word". They acted in John Cameron Mitchell's feature film "Shortbus". They also appeared on Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit. As a musician, Sea played in several San Francisco Bay Area punk bands. Sea is a multi-instrumentalist who plays folk and queer folk music. As a conceptual artist and performer, Sea is informed by queer, trans, decolonial and disability theories, interrogating the intersections of pop culture and the fine arts. Daniel came up in the San Francisco queer art scene of the 1990's, writing, playing in bands, making zines and performing. Daniel has long been involved in queer protest and art movements, dreaming and working in community towards a brighter future of liberty and community care. Daniel is an MFA candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria. Daniel identifies as trans non-binary and uses he/they pronouns.
