Max Woertendyke
Max Woertendyke was born in NYC but grew up in Williamsburg Brooklyn. His mother was a dancer and public school teacher and his father worked extensively in off-off Broadway theater. He attended local schools PS 132, JHS 126 and Stuyvesant HS, before attending McGill University in Montreal where he majored in History and English Literature. Upon returning to NYC he continued his studies at The Juilliard School of Drama where he received his graduate degree, and was awarded the Jonathan Madrigano Entrepreneurship Grant and the Juilliard Career Development Fellowship, both in relation to film producing he did while a student. Max made his Broadway debut in Ivo Van Hove's A View From the Bridge, and has appeared at numerous Off-Broadway Theaters in NYC including The Public, TFANA and others and he has -- as can be seen here -- been seen on small and large screens. As a director and/or producer Max has developed, produced and sold multiple films, internet spec commercials, and museum exhibition video. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Maria, where, along with his sister Lia, they founded Backyart, a multi-disciplinary arts event that ran for over 3 seasons and showcased work from over 250 individual artists working in all mediums.
